I don't know about you but I loved my advent calendar at Christmas. The chocolate wasn't great but hey I didn't know the difference. It was more the excitement if knowing each day you got a present.
I wanted to do the same for Miss Muffet but really does she need more sugar! I decided to put together 24 activities instead.
Follow me for the next 24 days, see what I decided to do and maybe you'll find something you'll like to do too.
I was walking through the dollar store trying to figure out how to put everything together when I came across 4 gift card holders for $1.
I thought of things I loved doing as a kid and came up with less Han I thought I would so I took to Pinterest.
As my list grew I came up with a few more on my own. I decided I wanted to keep them on the cheaper side, the point is to spend time together not spend more money, fun things.
I finally had 24 activities I printed them out on heavy paper, cut them apart and put each one into a gift card holder. I was originally going to put a date on all of them but decided it would be more fun for her to pick a box at random each day instead, except for Dec 1 and 24, these are traditions.
Today is Dec 1 - Write your letter to Santa.
I have some rules for writing Santa, I know I can hear you saying "really"??!!
Yes, I want her to think about what she really wants, I don't want Christmas to be just a greedy gimme gimme gimme.
1) She must be polite, say thank-you for last years present and please for a new present.
2) She can only ask for 3 things
- No animals or siblings - Santa can not create life
3) Santa only brings one item - of his choosing, from the list. Now he may choose to bring 2 or all but that is his choice.
I hope you enjoy following along as Miss Muffent and I complete rest of the activities, maybe they'll give you ideas for your own calendar.
